What a View

Well, the kids and I joined Babe here in the great Four Corners a week ago.  It's a little weird knowing I won't be stepping back into my classroom after the Christmas break.  I know there will be a few withdrawals for me, not teaching anymore, not seeing my friends, or hanging out at the beach.  There will be a period of grieving and then I will totally embrace my new surroundings.  Deep down I longed for this move, but to have it actually happen still seems surreal.
Even though the house is in disarray, you can't beat the view.  Thank you Lord for all you have created, may I never take it for granted.

Phase Two: Master bedroom Closet

This room already existed, but it did not have a closet.  So Babe and our talented friend put this together, along with the new bedroom and closet all in two days.

Phase One: Little Z's Room

This house did not come with a third bedroom, but the living room is L shaped so a third bedroom is possible.  Babe and a friend of ours built the frame, put on drywall and made a closet.  All we have left to do is put closet doors and paint.

Our Home

This was the home my mother in law lived and babe and his family would spend many summer vacations here and so this place holds a special place in his heart.
This house was built in 1900 and needs a lot of work and upgrades.  The construction started on December 24 so please stay tuned for all the changes about to take place.
Our kitchen:  Complete remodel in August.
Our living room: still needs paint.
L.J's room: New photo coming up after we clean it up and paint.
Mud room also a place to store all those boxes.

The Long Ride Home

We drive this route many times, but for our vacations.  Kind of surreal that this time it's to move to our new home.  It's a  beautiful drive and only 12 hours, well a little bit more when you're hauling all your stuff.

Saying Goodbye

That time has come to say goodbye to HB and our friends.  I will definitely miss our walks and bike rides to the beach, the warm weather and all our friends.  Why move?  Well, when Babe finds a good job and The Lyen's Den became empty it was pretty much our open door.  It's hard to get ahead in SoCal, and this was the best decision for our family.  We now have a home of our own with plenty of room to grow, run around and I am able to stay home.

We are blessed with great friends who helped us pack up the Uhal and cars, one of them even drove with us and for that we are forever grateful.
